Way to kill a buzz Harper.

It occured to me that I never posted on the outcome of the election.

Bad News: Conservatives won the 39th General Election.

Silver Linings:

1: It's a minority government, and not a dominant one. I fully expect to be at the polls in under 16 months. I'll put money on under 18 months.

2: My riding was won by who I voted for, that being Olivia Chow. Tony Ianno just didn't do anything for me but look like a talking head.

3: I got to see the Marijuana Party's candidate on my ballot. Check the website, it's like they're constantly stoned or something.

4: The NDP has more seats then before so they'll be even more effective in helping to reign in right wing nutjobs.

5: The Bloc Quebecois leader hates the Conservative leader.

6: P.E.I. and Toronto are still Conservative free zones. Well, P.E.I. as a Province only sends 4 MPs so... yeah okay, for perspective I think Toronto alone sends 26 or 28.

7: Minority Governments tend to get useful things done, because if a bill doesn't pass, the government falls. As was the case when the NDP forced this election when the Liberal Party wasn't doing anything in line with their goals.

8: Proving that it's not just the U.S.A., Montreal voted in an infammatory, government bashing, radio personality as an independant candidate (the only one).

This was the list of Parties actually registered in this election. Personally I enjoy the Parti Populaire des Putes (hookers and whores) the two, yes count them, TWO Communist parties (which HATE each other) with a Socialist party for extra fun.

But, for a real good time, look here.

Well shit. Harper's in. At least I don't have to deal with four more years here. I can only pray.
