Ja ne

So. I've been busy. Crazy guy's got a wife it seems, or maybe these two just should be together. Their nuts. Yep. I'm tired. And hanging out now with the relaxing. And Ana is still thinking of this insanity with the hippy commune. Gah. Okay watching lost now with Katy. It's a good thing I haven't seen anything of the season so I have no idea what's going on.

Class tomorrow. India. Yeah. I'm not doing well at this today. Going away now.

So the lost theme song kinda sucks.

This pay better be worth it.

I opened every day last week, and I thought it was pretty cool too. I met lots of interesting people, like Crazy guy (who's just insane), and Mr. Crazy (who's normal except that he names all of his bagels before he eats them), and opening is kinda fun with Maureen since she and I make fun of each other constantly.

Then I had my 'day off' and went to visit Jordan. Who lives in Simcoe county, and farmland. And what did I do there? Milk some cows, and do his younger sisters homework. Okay so the assignment was to make a movie, and we goofed off but I was tired and smelly by the time I got home.

And then today. Today has sucked. Okay this morning was good. I was actually really happy this morning. I was so looking forward to going to going to Katy's house (I'd been invited to dinner) and hanging out. But I had to close. And I'm not good at closing. Since this was my second time EVER doing so, I can forgive myself for now. But Fiona (my boss) wanted me to stay late to help her change the signs. Okay, I thought, I can do that. She had said we'd get out at around 6:30 as opposed to 5:30, and I got Maggie to get in touch with Katy to let her know I was going to be late. Cool, everything is all set.

Then Katy was sitting in the store waiting for me, and I realized exactly how much work Fiona had asked me to do. They hadn't changed the prices in two years, and now I was rewriting all of the chalk board hang ups. And my chalk handwriting isn't all that good so it took me a while. Oh, and I had to do that closing thing that I SUCK at too. So now I feel like an ass because Katy had waited patiently (that girl is a saint) before I told her what I'd figured out. I hate screwing up her plans. I was right though. I got out sometime after 9:00. I did get lots of bagels for her though. Damn it! I even have to get up early tomorrow to mop the floor before I open. And when I say early, I mean earlier then I usually do when I open. Which is 5:30am before one of you jerks says I should stop whining. I'm now getting up earlier then that and if you know me, you know that I hate morning. Which means, I'm going to try and go to bed now.

At least the middle of next week I have nothing to do but be a boyfriend. There, I'm officially looking forward to that. God it's not even 11:00!

I waited till the end of the post to title it and now I'm mad!

I'm kinda liking this job. Closing sucks, but opening isn't all that bad. My feet, knees, and back are in sore shape after a while though. I'm thinking of investing in some Doctor Sholes or something, the floor is not... comfortable to stand on after 4 hours. And I work longer then four hours. Rushes can be not so much fun, but when you have one person and you get to chat it's sorta nice. I ran the cash today as well as the bagels so the other two women could bake all day. And salads are still stupid. I made not one but TWO 'New Wave Caesars'. The only thing resembling a caesar salad about it is the romain lettuse. It uses raspberry dressing, jeesh.

Maureen the manager/baker lady who I work with in the mornings, is pretty cool. She's big, Jamaican, and a sports fan so we have stuff to talk about. She's got a goofy side too which means when I screw up she doesn't mind too much. Belen is just a helper baker or something, and I didn't talk to her much since she wasn't ever in the front of the store.

I'm tired though the coffee in the morning helps. Free coffee. Thank god. I don't even abuse it! Man I so should. Damn I think I will! Next week I'll have to remember to let people know about Tuesdays and the dozen bagels for cheap, like $4.75 I think? Enh. Hey I also found out that we have a sort of subclub type dealio with cards and a hole-punch. It's your 'buy a dozen get one free deals'. Which makes sense since we sell bagels by the dozen. The cards confused the hell out of me at first though. Here's how it works. They have a giant stack gathered together by means of an elastic. On each card is someone's hand written name. Which means I can barely read it of course. That handwriting was bad. Very very so unbelievably bad. On each card, you punch the hole. You have to get there name, shuffle through the deck (to all you nay-sayers out there, geek skills be rockin' at this job!) and punch the thing while they look on in abject amusement/wait impatiently for you to help them with there bagel. Did I mention that making the salads suck? I hate those things! I'd rather get my fingerprints scalded off by the soup and the omelette bowls then make those things.

Speaking of club card things! Why the hell is Subway, that titan of flavorful goodness and bringer of extra special footlong joy into my life, GETTING RID OF THE SUBCLUB CARDS! Those stamps fed me for a week once damn it! I mean it's awesome! Hell half the time people collect the stamps only because they can. And go eat at a Subway over other places so they can GET stamps. WHY OH WHY! I'm pissed now! I'm ending this post I'm so mad!

Pooped...

I'm worn out. Last night was a lot of good fun, lasagna, cakes, and oh the wine. Lots and lots of wine. Unfortunately, wine does NOT put me to sleep. And that's no good when your getting up at 7:00a.m. to make sure you have clothes for the work day. Yeah, I was a mess for a while this morning. But I got to work on time and better yet, in working order. And I only made about three or four mistakes all day. Which I didn't think was all that bad. It's mothers day thought, so say thanks to your moms out there. A LOT of families came through the place so it got busy. So busy we had to keep it open an extra half hour just to clean up. Vanessa's very nice and cut me some slack I think. Or it could be that I have no idea what I'm doing. Yep, probably that. One guy at about 11:30 or so, so pretty early into my foray in no-mans-land, went nuts because I gave him the wrong cream cheese. Apparently he'd asked for lox cream cheese, and I happily spread lox cream cheese all over the bagel. When he complained, my manager pointed out his error, I showed him the tub, with the little pieces of fish in the cheese with the herbs that go with it, and he got angrier. I think he thought that a lox flavored cream cheese was going to not be mostly cream cheese, and be mostly fish. As he stormed out of the place cursing us for 'misrepresenting' what we were selling (it does say 'lox flavored cream cheese on the sign, not creamed lox cheese) all I could do was turn to the next customer in line, and my embarassed boss, and say, "if he'd asked for lox, I could have given it to him." My boss was aghast until the woman burst out laughing, apparently he's known for being a stooge of sorts. we do actually have fish to put on the sandwhiches. So there mystery man. So there.

It turns out we're the only bagel place in the area. And on the opposite corner... is the Jewish Community Center. Yeah... so... busy...

I think after Maria leaves I'll post about her departure. She's got herself a hot date though right now, up the CN Tower and dinner at some ritzy place I'm sure (Ian'll do well, his new girlfriend is leaving after all). Have I mentioned how unbelievable cute those two are as a couple? No? Consider it mentioned.

Now it's time for food (Ben cooked!) and the Bosox (so far the cable isn't out yet)! Booyah!

Furama!

Okay, so I didn't post yesterday. Yes yes yes, shut up. Today though, today could be lots of fun. I get to go visit Dave, whom I ran into last night outside of 401 (probably the best card shop in Toronto, and it's right downtown) as I was going for a walk enjoying the extremely clement weather we've been having. Dave works at the Miles Nadal JCC at the corner of Bloor and Spadina so its not like its far or anything, but he might have a job for me. It wouldn't pay well, but hey, I need the money don't I.

And there was the evening.

I'm really looking forward to tonight. I haven't seen a lot of the rez people in a long time. Especially Vanessa for example... I honesly can't remember when I last saw her! I mean I see J.J. and Blake around residence at times but not often, I ran into Keith before the quad soccer game a few days ago, and Rachel yesterday when I was running errands to the bank, that was fun. We talked over pizza, browsed through Sonic Boom! and caught up. But the rest of them I haven't really seen at all, or not as much as I'd like. Thank god for Vanessa, who's throwing the second pot luck dinner tonight. I've got the dessert, and I'm itching to go. I even managed to save 5 bucks for the subway fare. It's not for another 8 hours or something, but damn, I mean friends, food, now all we need is some sort of game and I'm in heaven! Katy's working till 9:00pm though so she might not come depending on how she's feeling. Sadness. But if we come back downtown for a pub she'll come back regardless she said which makes happiness the rule again.

Oh. So I'm fairly sure I've handled myself in a manner not becoming of a gentleman where it concerns Maria. I've had others express their opinions and such. Maria, I'm so sorry, I by no way meant to blow you off and the B5 game was supposed to be just a demo and then I'd be done in time for Burwash. I'll explain more when you move in. I feel somewhat like a jerk though. I'm sorry!

Da bee doo ba ba bee diddly doo da da!

I need to post I know! I'm tired right now though so booger to you. I'll get to it tomorrow, along with a lot of other stuff I have to do. Like get a hair cut. I can't remember the last time my hair was this long. And I'm absolutley positive Katy isn't enjoying so much. If the "you're one goal in life right now should be to CUT YOUR HAIR!" is any indication.

Played some Vic Quad soccer today though, ah the sillyness that was had by all. So much sillyness there was had. Okay my body is betraying me and shutting down now. Sleepytime!

Just 24 more hours...

I've been putting off posting until I had good news. That news would be that I finally got the call from my new boss at Bake Works, and I'm officially hired! Which means now I have to remember what to do! Yeah! Maybe I'll go in early one day for a refresher. Enh. I have to get through this test first tomorrow. Well, back to the studying, and then off to the sleeping!
